ahmedfikry wm6.5 23028 light rom

This is a Light version (max space & speed) and includes some extra ringtones/alert sounds
all extra MS "useless" stuff is removed, most other useful programs can be added by CABs anyway based on user preference

it is fixed for SD memory card flashing & with all the konwn bug issues fixed so far

23028 LIGHT rom

http://www.4shared.c..._light_rom.html

I will not release a loaded rom since it leaves very little space when things are applied on device we can use cabs to do that on memory card instead
I will also leave 23017 rom links active for users who do not like the new MS graphics & UI new look

donations through paypal welcome...many hours of fixing & cooking here...thanks in advance

more available memory to COM 0 because the way MS compressed the new files and how it handles memory usage
also new interface for users that makes it more finger friendly (larger controls) & dropping taskbar
the menu items can be moved by holding & swaping positions

overall faster & some may like the new finger friendly stuff

thanks ahmed! i'm going to wait for some feedbacks before trying this rom! 23017 is too stable(without using IE) for me so far and really fast. is the ms widgets installable as a separate cab or must be cook directly? thanks for the hard work. i have a work, i can donate, but i can't because i don't have a credit card(not that popular here) so i have no idea how i could that. so i guess no more request this time. thanks again. more power!

ps. please post those who have tested this!

thanks

i am using 23017 too but i think 23028 is as stable & i am considering switching
i actually like the new larger graphics for finger use

widgets as far as i know have to be cooked (did not hear about cab install for them),,,i remove them when cooking for more space + i think you can get same info from internet (i know its easier with widget as no typing is needed) but i rarely use them & i prefer to have the space

thanks for considering the donation ... it better to have a reason ...better than others who said they would and promised to donate but never did

Great work & great rom m8!

I'm just thinking you missed :

* The htc task manager with real close button and high right home plug
* & sound mixer

Like in your 23017Light which was perfect

Is it normal as the phone has an old skin like in WM6.1? And how to set lock the device in this one with power button? Please

I've noticed than volume buttons are moving up and down in today menu, dont work for up/down volume, same while calling !!

Thanks again for sharing!! ;)

hello
all good points ...but i intentionally removed all that

the HTC task manager overlaps the clock on the new task bar so it looks ugly...you can instal quickmenu cab that adds the "close" function to running applications and has many options

sound mixer when i was testing caused problems with bluetooth driver...and if you instal sound mixer cab it would be OK..its only a problem if includer during cooking...so simply use the cab

the phone was left as MS original because the lower bottom bar is bigger to be finger friendly & if i use any other dialer it will overlap & cause a side scroll bar (really bad look)...si i left the original one (good thing that it includes a smart dial anyway)

the lockdevice v1.2 or v1.3 cab is available on xda-developers & works better that smart lock that i used to include in cooking..it is lighter, locks as expected, and is a cab that leave us with more space here for people who dont want automatic locking

hope this helps :)

up & down volume will drop a larger finger friendly taskbar..you can click on the speaker icon to bring up the volume controls (which are large too)
i think microsoft is trying new ideas...i personally just like the buttons to change the volume..i will look into registry soon maybe i can work around it & post a fix

Hi,

Have you readmy message on the 23017 thread?

This rom solved a very annoying problem : the minimum sound level in 23017 was very loud (it went from mute to very loud in one step)

It also sounds much more stable, no freeze so far.

The accents still doesn't work.

The keyboard is quite annoying in landscape mode, I'll intall no keyboard

thanks a lot

Received my little paypal cheer?

Glad that you like the rom
If you are from canada??? then yes ...thanks for the donation :)

i am trying to improve some things now & work on fixing bluetooth "no sound" with certain headset models
also working on fixing compitability of 23028 with some titanium plugins (distrted images bug)
and adding a better task manager & finger friendly keyboard

I may release rom V2 with these, or if a new build comes out before then (they come out fast now) then i will use with new one

yup, I'm from Quebec, Can

I don't use bluetooth right now. Have you considered giving a try to upx? I may slow down compressed apps a bit, but, for example I compressed the 3.2MB tomtom's .exe down to 1.5MB.

It would be nice to upload all popular cabs (like sound mixer, task man, null keyboard, GPS update, voice commander, office, etc) to this forum's ftp (if not too unlegal)

or a torrent maybe?

or compile a lilst of links.. I'm bored of looking for these.

I think m$ft is in the right direction. A lot of gui improvements for thumb navigation. Needs a bit of polishing, though.
