ROM updates are scattered all over the V900 posts, that's why I want to collect and concentrate all ROM updates in one topic. No changelogs provided so far. I will keep my post updated by edits, so pay a visit once in a while and feel free to contribute to our "treasures".

Thanks krischan. May I ask you an old question: Is it very risky to install the German ROM over the WWE? And: Did you as a German do so? Beside the language, what are the differences to the 0372 version?

• I'm still using WWE 0372 and I haven't cross-updated my device. So I cannot personally say anything about the risks involved. One thing's for sure: warranty will expire.
  
• One of our members tried to cross-downgrade his V900 WWE 372 -> GER 370 resp. WWE 410 -> GER 370 and failed. X900/V900 unlocked EEUs updater initialized but then soon exited ("finish screen"). Fortunately the device wasn't bricked. But he had no trouble cross-updating his DX900 WWE 373 -> GER 393. So that leaves us with three alternatives:
  • X900/V900 EUUs unlocked updater doesn't work properly.
    
  • Updater has the temp.dat/.bin in the wrong places.
    
  • Updater only works with cross-updates, not with cross-downgrades (which is rather unlikely). If so, try for yourself.
  
  
• Differences 372/431: As mentioned above there are no changelogs provided. Eten/Acer only have changelogs in Traditional Chinese for internal purposes, but they are working on translations into English. I have an internal changelog of WWE/CHT 410 that Acer sent me confidentially. That much I can say: GPS bug is eliminated, video streaming player improved and some bugs removed with BT headset connections. BTW: You can log into http://www.eten.com....tdl.asp?dtype=2 with your glofiish.com username/PW and have a look at the release CHT 410 with changes in Chinese (have it google translated): 更新改善如下 1. 使用行動電視時螢幕會自動關閉 2. 改善視訊電話撥打問題 3. 執行TV out同時開啟相機, TV out無法被正常關閉 4. 無法使用虛擬鍵盤撥打視訊電話

Good news : Cross updating from WWE B13 060 0410 to GER B13 060 0431 does work !

Because some former howtos do (e.g. PPC Welt) contain some faults here the way I did it with WinXP (Do not ask for VISTA , since I do not know this App.).

1. Take out SD and SIM

2. Connect the device via active sync

3. Start the installer EUU_ETEN_V900_GER_B13_060_0431_8B640E32.exe

including the sequence installing PDAupdate

Do not press the button finish.(`You have to repeat , when you´ve seen some orange colour on your screen ;-) )
Do not close this app.

4. Check out

C:documents and settings/users/xx(xx=your computer/ name)/local settings/temp

(german: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\xx\Lokale Einstellungen\Temp)

and find the two files :

temp.dat

USBDLUpdate_Console.exe

Btw., to see the directory local settings , you have to make hidden folders visible !

copy them into a new folder e.g. onto your desktop

together with the EUUs_x900_unlocked.exe provided in Krischans first post.

Do not rename the temp.dat to temp.bin as proposed in some former manuals

5. Start the EUUs_x900_unlocked.exe within the folder.

6. Update does start right away after you confirmed on V900 screen

After that: Do not touch - it does need about 5 minutes or more.
Some update progress to be seen on BW screen.
But wait until updater on your PC screen did finish the whole progress, even if it seems to be ready at the PDA screen.....

Enjoy.

Btw. be sure , your battery is fully charged before starting the progress.

What are the improvements of ROM GER 431 or WWE 431?

Does anybody know if TMC is working in this version?

Minor issues, I did not even recognize.Worked before and still does. No official changelog and no reason not to try it yourself. Concerning TMC no changes. No RDS tuner cab. We do have another topic on this.

Let me put it that way: If you were a distributor ensuring to purchase some thousand plus V900s with nav sw - as done with the X800 some months ago (Glofiish Navigation) - then you'd be in biz with Acer independent of the ROM version. Just follow dehlya's link.

Thanks for the information, I will give Acer until May to come with a solution for TMC and the frame drop (DVB-T). Or the solution will be that someone has to return my 500 euro's to me. For TMC I will use dehlya's link :(

No, and why would you if the French ROM update FRA 0432 seems available? http://www.glofiish-...ponent/op...tid,29/#msg7950. Follow the instructions by "tofe62", third post from the top and you'll have your ROMs: set your mouse cursor in the third column from the left (beneath "Items") - where the ROM is only seen as letters but doesn't seem downloadable - to the first letter beginning with EUU... and mark/highlight from left to right with your mouse. As you slowly mark the characters you'll see the webpage slowly shifting to the left. Keep on highlighting/marking with your mouse until an icon like a zip/compressed file appears: This is your ROM update. Download and enjoy (hope this instruction was clear enough).

Or log into glofiish.com and go to OS downloads; make sure you use IE6 or higher and that the web page covers the full width of you monitor screen (no "favourites" on the left side of the screen), the file to be downloaded should look sth like an icon for a zip file.

All ROMs seem available, only you have to expand glofiish.com download website to full width to make the files visible. I'm downloading WWE 0432 right now.

One request for you French and other non-WWE people in this forum: Please post direct links or links to file hosters with your language ROMs, I'd like to add them to our collection.
