X500+ Shift-Sequel

This is WM6.1 stripped ROM.

It has:
Kernel: wm6.1 19199
OS: wm6.1 19199
PP: 6MB

* This ROM is based on freepk's shift from (which was based on 544rus ROM). This ROM contains special changes from 546rus ROM (passwords fix, gsm drivers fix e.t.c.)
* This ROM have lot's of changes inside from original wwe or rus ROM.
* This ROM is as light as possible.
* This ROM supports both SD and SDHC cards.
* I advise you to use cabs from this post for MMS and USSD. (They are not integrated to rom)

Changes from v8 to v9:
* Windows Media Player fix (scaling is on now)
* Battery fixed. Got back to full suspend mode, but with special fix for sounds. It's all ok with messangers now.
* Small registry fixes.

I consider v9 to be RC.

Changes from v6 to v8:
* FWUPDATER removed almost completely. Think nobody will need that.
* NETCF is of v3.5.
* VGA mode is back in IE.
* Internet sharing is working now.
* Sim Toolkit changed. Can't test it, cause have no STK on my sim, so waiting for tests...
* Changed POWER MANAGEMENT of x500+. So I'm expecting test results of battery life e.t.c. (probably it will be a bit less). BUT it menas that WIFI will be working even on suspended device. GSM stability is also improved (as for me).
* Changed SD parameters. It may affect RAM but it also increases speed... So, again waiting for tests...
* Added separate cab 'Allow suspend' so everybody who need a little bit more battery may switch to old power scheme. (do not recommend by myself...)
* Added cab which changes gsm drivers priorities. You may expect a better time response. (probably...)
* Added cab with old wavedev.dll. It may fix low sound in speaker (please test it and report to me, thank!)
* Other small fixes.

Changes from v5 to v6:
* Small fixes in registry (SD card is not detached on suspend e.t.c.).
* Obex is turned on now by default.
* Created special cabs (at the bottom of the post) with different versions of gsm drivers. You may try them in case you have problems with gsm.
* Small fixes in kernel - removed unused driver.
* After long testing page pool changed to 6MB. As for me, I can't see any performence lost.

ROMS:

x500+ shift sequel v9 eng (mirror)

Additional soft:

USSD Handler (mirror). By default usual MS ussd behaviour is on. But you can't answer on ussd request. This patch solves the problem.

MMS Composer (mirror). By default MS do not have software for mms. This is default soft from eten for that. Think is good. (you must launch \Windows\CSP.exe after installing composer)

GSM drivers (mirror). You may try several versons of gsm drivers in case you have problems with stk or gsm.

Old GSM Drivers Old eten 'get log patch'. This patch updates gsm drivres to old version, but may solve STK problems.

SD large blocks (mirror). This patch enabled larger block transfers for SD card. It may improve sd card speed.

Windows Live. Windows Live in cab.

You'll have to install by yourself all other soft (eten standart soft for example).

Kitchen

WARNING ! DO NOT EVEN DOWNLOAD KITCHEN IN CASE YOU'RE NOT DEVELOPER AND YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE DOING ! YOU MAY KILL YOUR DEVICE !

kva,
I'm getting an error saying OS Image is not compatible. Could you have uploaded ROM for different device?

Hm. I forget that it was based on russian rom. You may use EUUs to flash it on x500+, or you may wait a bit - I will upload rom with english headers.

You can downgrade to any version you want to downgrade to, provided you can get into the bootloader.

I've modified ROM so it should be flashable now on enlish x500+ without any additional movements. Please, try it. (link in first post is updated).
My rom doesn't have bootloader inside - it means bottloader is NOT touched. And that means you can downgrade to any rom you want later.

I have been waiting for this, so thanks kva.

I have a newby question though... Can I flash your Rom using Active Synch or i should do it through the SD card?
Also, why is the bin file so small? shouldn't be arrounf 85MB?

Thanks

And another think. Will there be any significant speed change in my device after flashing this?

kva,
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this ROM.
Typically I try to find something wrong with ROMs so that I can give some constructive criticism, but on this one... No way!
I like how you stripped everything down so that the ROM is bare minimum. That prevents me from trying to figure out how to remove this and that. Also, allows me to know that it's clean so that I can put in what I need rather than having things here and there that I will never use. Tremendous job!

One request though,
Could you please tell us what you have added to the ROM? You already mentioned patch for password.
How about patch for echo, delay ring, battery, MMS, etc? I would like some more information on what you have modified.

Thank you, and once again, love your ROM!

You can flash it either way. Easiest way that I prefer is using Active Sync. Just take EUU.exe, USBD_UpdateConsole.exe and copy them into C:\Documents and Settings\%profile%\Local Settings\Temp. Unzip the file and rename temp.bin to temp.dat. Run EUU.exe and you should be on your way.

As for the .bin file being small, I'm pretty sure it's mainly because the way kva repackaged the ROM.

Thanks for the reply.

Could you also tell me where I can find those files?
