Hey,

I thought it might be a good idea to record some of the presentations i was visiting. Well, i tried the voice recorder of my X500.
I set it to 11khz, 8bit, mono, and store on SD card.
After some time the recording was stopped and my SD card was not present anymore (software spoken...) on my phone.
I tried to read the card in my card reader, but after some minutes of blinking, windows popped up with 'unrecognizable USB..'
So, i cant even format the card anymore.

My thought is that the voice recorder recorded until the card was filled (~600mb was left in the first place), and didn't closed the file in a proper way.
At first i tried to record to my system mem, but after 30 sec my phone almost hang because my main storage was completely filled.
Is there any way to fix my sd card? besides..i lost a lot of my personal stuff....:( Maybe its an idea to connect the card reader to an unix machine, maybe that can format the card. (or perform an checkdisk).

I also think that the voicerecorder needs some fixing, its needs to stop recording when only 1% of free space is left or something.
I use the E-ten X500, with the WM6 rom.

I got the same. I recorded too much and the card was full. After that nothing from the card could be accessed. I saw it was full using Memory Settings. I tried a lot of things but I had to format the card again. I thing there is a bug when recording to SD.

I already connected the card directly to my pc, but windows cant see the card. Also my x500 is not reporting any card. External storage says " No card present.." or somehing like that.
Tomorrow I will try the card reader under linux.

Okay, i tried to mount the card under linux. tried to read it with sfdisk, but partition table is unreadable, and therefore unable to fix. So the bottom line is, my phone cranked my microsd card :(
I really checked it well, i went to the most linux guru of the department here :)
So, for you all, watch out with the voice recorder on your phone! Don't let your card get full!

I also tried the panasonic sd format tool. (http://panasonic.co.jp/pavc/global/cs/sd/download/sd_formatter.html) It is not working, "Card is not supported"
The format tool for a PDA is also reporting " no card present" (http://www.softwinter.com/storagetools.html)

So, this sd card is really wrecked, burned, cranked, unreadable...
It was a SanDisk, 2048mb card. Worked perfectly fine for almost 1,5 years.

Hi,

The last option for you is to erase the card, if it is detected under Linux as root, try :

# dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/mmc bs=512

The bold /dev/mmc is only a sample, you need to known the device name of your SD card.

I own a G500 that is not working anymore (Screen OK) : PM me if you want to buy it...

had the same problem with my card and recovered all data from card using my laptop and a liitle program called GetDataBack for NTFS FAT

Please not that my files were not visiable on the laptop as well.

After recovery use your ppc to format your card and u should be good as new.

Good luck
