I'm thinking about the possibility to write a petition for asking to Eten a release of Android for each of the glofiish series device.
Title: Android Open Operative System on Eten's PDA

 To: Eten

We believe that the performance of devices that currently operate via windows mobile OS, not reflect the real potential of the hardware... We believe that a device with 64MB of RAM and 400MHz CPU has all the potential to have benefits greater than those that can be noted with WM5 / 6.
Try thinking only what PCs a few years ago allowed to do with 64MB of RAM: but our PDA doesn't have a screen of 15'' to handle ....

We, the undersigned, call on the eten to support as soon as possible an operating system alternative to mobile windows, which can be ensured by the user customization and especially to tap the full potential of your hardware device. We therefore call on a close collaboration with the Open Handset Alliance™ to secure the release of Android versions adapted for your latest device, at least from the glofiish series device.

Here you can sign it!

Yeah - WM6 performance sucks. I would prefere a much faster OS, like the iPhone one - or maybe the Android for my x500+.

Hi

good idea.

Not sure if the letter is finished..or in concept. I would start with "Dear Sir, Madam" just the usual business stuff.
I sure sign it

Before write it officially I would know some suggest for write it correctly. This is my first draft:

Signed it!
Though I somehow doubt Eten will release it to the older models... even if they do start using Android.

Just a thought(and I'm not intentionally trying to step on anyones foot), but isn't there already a linux port for ETEN devices? Isn't Android running on Linux? If yes to both, do we need ETEN to achieve Android?

I think one of the beauties of Linux and Android is it's openness and how the Open Source community can achieve anything they want, without waiting on corporates to offer us a product to buy.

It would be awesome if ETEN offers up Android for us to download, but why beg a corporation for Android? Why throw gasoline to a fire, their ego, that only they, mighty ETEN, can give us salvation?

The achievements of the Open Source community/Linux has been steady and significant. I don't know how much of it was acquired through petitions, but I know a lot of it has been achieved by people who were willing to get their hands dirty.

Just a thought and to shed light on the way of the force...young padawan!
